On the Job with Hearing Loss Book

"On the Job with Hearing Loss", 176 pp. compiles the experiences from over 1000 job assessments to help individuals, employers and professional understand the communication issues people with hearing loss face at work. Some chapters educate those new to hearing loss while other chapters identify a process to identify all the communication issues. Identifying the obstacles is the first step towards effective accommodations.

Professionals will find the most value in the in-depth occupational reports that identify the common communication issues and potential technology solutions; specifically the ALDs that will help the hearing aid perform optimally. Written by Becky Morris who specializes in ALDs, "On the Job with Hearing Loss" provides valuable insights to ALD solutions that many professionals may not be aware of.

"The beauty of anything published by Rebecca Morris has always been its functionality. In this new endeavor, she expertly describes the impact of the listening environment as a whole on the hearing experience of the individual with hearing loss."

Cheryl D. Davis, Ph.D.,
Director, Regional Resource Center on Deafness Western Oregon University
